2nd Annual BeachBound Hounds 2001

A look back at some of the memories and moments from BBH01.

This page may take a few minutes to load because of the pictures.  Please be patient!

The first BBH banner, designed and created by hand with carefully chosen felt and fabric! Susan Colflesh and Cindy Meeks show off their handwork in the Mariner breakfast nook.

Jae Stachowiak and Boxer buddy Sampson, winners of the Owner/Pet Look-a-like contest.

Our first BBH Royalty-- Susan Colflesh and her boy Pay, with Mike Kirby and his girl Jodi.  (Note the classy purse Mike is sporting!)

Melodie Miller and little Ribbon, winner of the Barest Belly contest.  (Ribbon, not Melodie!)

Gangsta Summer saying "It's COLD on those morning beachwalks!"        Princess Tuffy agrees.  ;-)

Nancy Lassiter and her five babes, including Lizzy (second from left) who was formally adopted from GC during the weekend.

Special boy Marky, showing great progress in his medical condition.  He was able to walk on the beach-- quite an accomplishment for him!

Dave and Susan Allen Grady, married ministers, led us in a wonderful sunrise blessing service on the beach.

Mike and Jodi, inspiring everyone who saw them during a romp in the surf.  Men and women alike found themselves unashamedly moved to tears by the love and joy they saw.

Pawprints in the sand...the inspiration for BeachBoundHounds.

GC's fearless leaders...and their beachwalking foursome.  We liked this picture so much we used it for our holiday cards!

The group as they prepared to clean up the entire supply of crab in the greater Myrtle Beach area.  ;-)  Although a mixup in reservations by the restaurant led us to the Seafarer as an alternative, great food was had by all.

Lunch at Liberty Steakhouse with the dogs!  Although dogs aren't allowed in the rest of Broadway, the Liberty has an outside patio that welcomes owners and their pets.

The Second Annual BeachBoundHounds Group picture.

Photo this year was taken by Scott Lassiter.

The event begins to grow!  For BBH01 we...

  • Began scheduling events four days, starting on Thursday

  • Crowned our first Royalty

  • Filled the Mariner for the first time

  • Registered 35 families and 87 dogs
