Did you notice a common theme in the photos shown above? Greyhounds spend much of the day sleeping. Humans have bred greyhounds for centuries specifically to be the sprinters of the dog world. Similar to the cheetah (the sprinter of the cat world), greyhounds spend much of the day conserving energy so that they can exert that saved energy in a quick spurt. Greyhounds will assume the "cockroach" position seen in these photos when they are feeling particularly "at home." |
