Greyhounds available for adoption in the Columbia SC Area

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO OUR ADOPTERS!

The majority of greyhounds racing in the US were racing in Florida, until all of those tracks closed at the end of 2020.  We only have a very limited number of greyhounds available and don't expect to get many more.

If you have NOT adopted from us before: Please fill out the form below if you are in our adoption areas and you will be contacted to complete the approval process with a home visit IF we have a greyhound available that will work for your home.

Greyhound Crossroads Adoption Requests

If you adopted from Greyhound Crossroads previously: Please check our available hounds page and contact your adoption rep to make arrangements to meet the dog you are interested in.

Truman is an AKC show bred boy. He is a very big guy that is very happy, very outgoing and friendly. He loves everyone he meets. He loves attention and loves his toys. He is up to date on all vaccines and ready to be placed. He has lived with and likes small dogs, but being a playful puppy, he just wants to play with them and harrasses them. Since he is such a playful big boy, he would do better with medium to large dogs that would enjoy playing with him. Truman has seen barn cats at his home from a distance and gets very excited when seeing them, so he is not going to be safe to live with cats. Truman is still a puppy so needs a fenced yard where he can run, and he will need lots of exercise. Puppies are not like the calm retired greyhounds we are used to. He has been living in a home, but will still need some reminders on manners, like all puppies. He can be a thief, stealing things off tables and counters. He is no wallflower, very exuberant and happy.
