Additional Details:

Army is a very tall guy that came in from the Lester Raines Kennel at Orange Park. We were very excited to get him because we just placed his mom Lee Lonnie! He raced all of his 34 races at Orange Park in FL. He mainly raced at the lower levels but did get as high as B level briefly. His racing weight is listed as 79 but he is very tall and lanky for that weight and is one of the taller guys we have seen. He turned 3 on September 24th. He doesn't have very many races for his age and it looks like he took several breaks from racing: One after his first race October 7th of 2017 until mid December and another from May 5th to June 3rd of 2018. Then from June 7th to December 9th 2018. So it looks like he had some kind of reoccurring injury. Looking at all the bumps and falls he had, it looks like he was very clumsy due to his size. He did heal up completely and went back to racing in December, but was slow, so was retired after 4 races. Army's sire is BD's Grayson and his dam is Lee Lonnie. Army is a sweet, friendly guy that travels well and seems to kennel pretty well. He has made just a little noise occasionally in his kennel, but slept through the first night without making a peep. He liked the small kids he met and seemed to do well with the small dog he met too. He was interested in the cats at first and did a lot of sniffing, but lost interest on his own without even getting a slap from the cat. We only listed him as trainable because there was some initial interest in the cat. Army was fostered with cats and did very well with them. He jumps in and out of a SUV fine. He doesn't like to potty on leash so probably will need a fenced yard. He has decent leash manners and doesn't pull but does go from side to side to check things out. His foster home describes him as a lovable dofus. Army can be dramatic like so many greyhounds. He will give the greyhound scream of death sometimes if he doesn't like something, like having his nails done. He just needs someone that doesn't buy into his drama. He is tall enough that his back touches the top of the 48 inch long crate so he needs an extra tall 48" long crate or a 54" long dane sized crate. Army was in a home for a couple of months but he didn't do well there as an only dog. They called him Harvey. He is a sensitive guy that picks up on his owner's anxiety so needs a happy confident owner so he can be the confident happy guy he normally is.
