Additional Details:
Helen is being treated for a 'tarsocrural luxation'-- torn ligaments and tendons below her hock. She has an excellent plan for treatment and is expected to make a very good recovery. Helen is a sweet, laid back, tolerant girl which has made her a favorite at the vets. She accepts even painful treatments with no problem and is always happy to see the vet and vet techs. She is tolerant with small dogs and cats. She was able to move into a foster home for a short time and had very good manners there from the start. She had to be moved back to the vets because of some problems getting her leg to heal and is still at the vets now. Helen is quiet in her crate and potties well on leash so she may be a good apartment dog. We are optimistic that we will be able to save her leg and are hoping she makes a full recovery but she may end up with a limp or not having full use of the leg. Either way she will be an awesome pet for a lucky family.
Update on Helen, she has become a Therapy Dog and is a wonderful girl.
