Smote just retired from the Bolton Kennel at the Orange Park Race Track in Florida. He was raised at the Plum Creek Farm. Smote only raced 14 races. He got bumped in a race and was injured in July of 2019. He took time off to heal up and started racing again in October 2019. Smote raced a few more races and even won one of those. In his last race in October he re-injured himself. He was rehabbed, then started running in some schooling (practice) races after he was healed up. He kept getting slightly sore after his schooling sessions, so they decided to retire him. Smote shows no sign of any injury now. He is very large and very strong and excitable. Because he is so excitable and curious about everything, he pulls on leash and tries to go check out everything at once. He gets so happy to see you, he bounces around and may jump up on you. He is a big boy racing at 84lbs. Because of his enthusiastic greetings he would not do well with toddlers, small kids or elderly people that may not be steady on their feet. He seems like a big goofy guy that would never intentionally hurt anyone though. He just has no idea how big he is and is so incredibly happy all the time. He seems friendly and sweet and isn't intending to do the wrong thing, but is very active for a greyhound. He definitely needs a strong leader that will set rules and teach him how to be calm and mannerly. Smotes sire is Dyna Double One and his dam is PJ Never Ask Why. Since Smote is excited to see anything new, he was predictably very excited to see cats and small dogs. He was able to quickly re-focused on other things that he was equally excited to see. We just weren't able to get a good reading on him, so need to do more testing with him, before deciding if he would be able to live with cats or small dogs.

Smote was adopted his foster family, the Smith Family, in April of 2020 and called Finn. He crossed the bridge too soon, after getting loose and getting hit by a car in August of 2022.
