Kern just arrived from a dog farm in Florida. She actually retired from racing in July of 2016 after a successful career of 151 races. She raced at Palm Beach, Flagler, Mardi Gras, and Naples Ft Myers. She did get up to the top A level for part of her career. After she retired she went back to the farm to wait on an adoption group to take her and has been there for a year. She got her front leg stuck under a fence recently and suffered a terrible break, photos of her X-ray are in her other photos. Pro Greyhound is an organization funded by your donations that takes in greyhounds with injuries, gets them the surgeries they need and rehabs them. Pro Greyhound took her in, had one of their vets in Florida reconstruct Kern's leg and then drove from NC to Florida to get her after surgery. Her surgery cost $2000. Kern's sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and her dam is Atascocita Bonny. Kern raced at 57lbs and will turn 5 on August 17th. More as we get to know her.
