Miles just came in from the Sanford Orlando Race Track Kennel. He also raced at Derby Lane and Palm Beach in Florida. Miles has been promised to our group since he was a puppy. He was named for one of our volunteer's dogs that passed away. We first met Miles at around 8 months old at his farm in Texas and have followed him growing up through training and his career of 81 races. We have photos of him along the way and he even has his own Facebook page for his followers so he is pretty special. Miles will turn 4 on December 10th. His sire is the famous Trent Lee and his dam is CTW Flirtatious. Miles is a smaller guy that raced at just 68lbs and is a stocky muscular guy, so is pretty short for that weight. He wasn't a great racer, mainly winning at the lower levels and only briefly getting up into the top A level one time. He was retired because he broke his outside back toe in his last race. Our vet amputated that toe and unless you count the toes you won't even notice one is missing. Miles definitely doesn't notice and has felt better since the problem toe came off. He is healed up and ready to go home now. Miles is a very outgoing guy that loves everyone he meets, kids and adults alike. He bounces happily to see you when you get home, but calms down nicely. He will stand next to you for petting for nearly as long as you will pet him. Although he is mostly quiet in his crate and crates really well, he sometimes makes some noise when he can see or hear people outside and wants to go see them. He potties nicely on walks and walks nicely on leash so wouldn't require a fenced yard. He gets along great with other dogs large and small and was living with an Italian Greyhound in his foster home and is exceptionally tolerant of the little guy. He is being fostered now with cats and is doing great with them too. Miles is a very sweet boy that loves people and is going to make a very loving pet. He is shiny and gorgeous.
